Temperatures in the low to mid 40s could feel like temperatures in the lower 30s with wind chill in some areas of the Treasure Coast over the next few days as cold conditions are forecast throughout the week, said a meteorologist.

Below-normal overnight lows Monday and Tuesday due to a series of cold fronts with northerly winds could make temperatures feel near freezing due to windy conditions and wind chill, a bureau meteorologist said forecast from the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

These are forecast to be “the coldest temperatures so far this season,” meteorologist Cassie Leahy said.

“One thing that might shock people is the wind chill,” Leahy said.

Inland rural areas east of Interstate 95 would likely have cooler temperatures and, with wind chill, could feel below 30 degrees, while coastal areas could feel in the mid to upper 70s 30 overnight Monday and Tuesday, Leahy said.

No frost or freeze warnings are in effect for the Treasure Coast, but Leahy said people or animals without adequate shelter could be vulnerable to wind chill and below-average low temperatures.

More seasonal regional temperatures will arrive by the end of the week and into the weekend.

“It will be cool Wednesday night, but we will start to see temperatures start to warm up again and could return to normal by some time over the weekend,” Leahy said.
