Update Aadhaar details of children: Ludhiana DC to parents

Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal also highlighted the need for citizens whose mobile numbers are not linked to their Aaadhaar cards to ensure that these are updated.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jitendra Jorwal on Tuesday urged parents to update the Aadhaar cards of their children. While reviewing Aadhaar registration and status updating at the district administrative complex, Jorwal stressed that children should be registered for Aadhaar card, a crucial document for accessing various government schemes, and that Their biometric information (fingerprints and iris scan) should be updated once they reach the ages of 5 and 15.

The DC also stressed the need for citizens whose mobile numbers are not linked to their Aadhaar cards to ensure that these are updated. He asked the officials to complete the process of updating Aadhaar within the stipulated time and carry out an awareness campaign to encourage residents to update their Aadhaar data. Besides, he also directed officials of education and health departments to organize camps in schools, hospitals (especially in maternity and pediatrics) and anganwadi centers for registration of children .

According to the guidelines issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), he mentioned that all Aadhaar holders must update their information including mobile numbers, identity proof and current addresses. He said that citizens can either visit the nearest sewa kendras and aadhaar registration centers for this. They can also avail this service online if their mobile number is registered with their Aadhaar.
