Commuters are advised to expect delays on the Steveston Highway following a collision Tuesday morning in Richmond, British Columbia.

The crash resulted in the closure of the southbound Highway 99 exit onto Steveston Highway, which will be closed until further notice, Richmond RCMP said.

DriveBC says the collision blocked the westbound lanes shortly before 6:45 a.m.

An update issued just before 7 a.m. says one westbound lane and one eastbound lane have opened, but drivers are warned to still expect delays due to congestion in both directions at the exit ramps.

Commuters are recommended to use Westminster Highway instead.
