Gatwick: Holiday ‘ruined’ after wheelchair breaks down on EasyJet plane

A disabled man said his holiday was ‘ruined’ after his £20,000 custom-made wheelchair was damaged on a plane after it was not secured in the baggage hold and that it rolled throughout the flight.

Nathan Rollinson flew from Gatwick Airport in West Sussex to the German city of Munich with EasyJet on November 29.

Mr Rollinson, from London, told BBC Radio Sussex: “I was self-employed but now I don’t have a chair, I can’t walk my dog ​​or even do any work around the house.”

An EasyJet spokesperson said: “We are very sorry for the damage caused to Mr Rollinson’s wheelchair. »
