Gloomy and rainy weather is blowing through Dallas today. How long will wet conditions continue?

Make sure to take your umbrellas before leaving home in North Texas.

The storms began to fall well deserved rain over Dallas-Fort Worth early Wednesday and is expected to continue into the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers are expected to leave the region later today and fog will develop in the evening as a cold front passes through. No severe weather is expected.

The rain will stop briefly after a gloomy day on Wednesday before starting again this weekend.

Weather D-FW

From snow to 100 degree heat, we’ve got you covered.

A slow-moving system will bring widespread showers across the region beginning Friday evening and continuing through Sunday morning, according to the forecast. Thunderstorms are also possible.

“Precipitation totals will be greatest in our southeastern counties, where 1” to 2” of rain is expected,” a weather service says. “There is still some uncertainty regarding these forecasts and a slower moving system would result in heavier totals.”

Temperatures in Dallas will be in the 50s before a weekend warm-up pushes them into the 60s on Sunday. Lows will be in the 40s or highs in the 30s.
