Precautions after bypass surgery

4. You should stay inside your home to avoid exposure to infections from outside.

5. You must restrict visitors to the home or keep a distance of 6 feet when conversing.

6. You must strictly follow the aspects of cleanliness with hand hygiene and daily skin care by scrub bath or water bath as instructed by your surgical team.

7. You cannot lean forward or sleep on your sides or stomach for 4 to 6 weeks until your incision heals completely.

8. Inside your home, you can actively walk while doing regular stretching exercises and breathing exercises taught by the team. Remember that human healing is best when we rest and home is the best place to relax and recharge.

9. While you are recovering from bypass surgery, we generally recommend simple, home-cooked foods that are easy to digest and give enough energy for recovery.
