Tesco has issued an urgent recall for one of its festive products. The supermarket has urged customers not to eat Chicken Tsukune skewers due to an incorrect use-by date printed on the packaging.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issues recalls for a variety of reasons, including when products contain allergens that are not disclosed on the packaging or if plastic is detected in the item.

When a product is recalled, for any reason, the FSA shares details about what you should do if you purchased the item, as well as detailed information about why the item was removed from the sale.

The food alert was issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSF) and TESCO themselves. The product was labeled with a use-by date of 12/23/2024 instead of 12/10/2024, making it unsuitable for consumption after the date of December 10, 2024.

Tesco says an extension to the use-by date could pose a “health risk” if the product is kept beyond the correct shelf life. Shoppers have been asked by the supermarket not to eat it and return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. No receipt is necessary.
