Sibiu International Airport (SBZ), located in Romania’s Transylvania region, aims to expand its route network across European capitals to better serve its extensive catchment area of ​​more than 2.5 million people. Currently, the airport serves 12 European destinations with three partner airlines.

Among its most popular routes are London Luton (LTN), Munich and Vienna, which provide access to major European hubs and enable global connections for travelers from southern Transylvania.

Wizz Air, SBZ’s main airline partner, has significantly increased its presence at the airport in recent years, adding new routes and increasing frequencies on existing services, including flights to LTN.

In addition to its network ambitions, SBZ has focused on sustainability initiatives, achieving Level 1 airport carbon accreditation and exploring the use of solar panels to generate renewable energy. These efforts align with the airport’s broader mission to support environmentally responsible operations.
