The United States would lose a war with China if it ran out of missiles within days, according to a simulation run by Congress.

Thursday, December 5, within the special committee of the House of Representatives responsible for studying the simulation of a Sino-American armed conflict by the Chinese Communist Party, members of Congress as well as private experts highlighted the ineffectiveness of the American defense industry to respond appropriately to American military needs. inability of the United States to win a war or conflict.

These warnings come at a time when China is escalating its aggression against Taiwan and other U.S. partners in the Indo-Pacific region. Any armed conflict in the region is linked to the United States, as most countries in the region are allies and partners of the United States, including the self-governing island of Taiwan.

We can’t win the battle against China, warns senior Congressman

John Moolenaar, who heads the CPC committee of the House of Representatives, warned that the United States was unable to win the battle against China.

“Our defense industrial base does not have the capacity to deter and win a fight against the PRC,” Moolenaar said, referring to China by its formal name the People’s Republic of China (PRC), according to the Washington Times .

Moolenaar, a Republican from Michigan, further said that U.S. defense companies cannot innovate quickly and that supply chains for key defense components are vulnerable to coercion and manipulation from China, according to the newspaper.

Echoing Moolenaar, Democratic Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, ranking member of the House CCP committee, said the simulation revealed significant gaps in U.S. defense production capacity and highlighted the dependence on American defense industry with regard to minerals supplied by China.

“History tells us that we need a healthy defense industrial base now to deter aggression and ensure that the world’s dictators think again before dragging the United States and the world into another disastrous conflict said Krishnamoorthi.

US will run out of missiles in week of war with China, flag expert says

Christian Brose, chief strategy officer for weapons maker Anduril Industries, told the committee that simulations show the U.S. military will run out of weapons in less than a week of war with China, according to the Washington Times .

Brose went on to point out that U.S. aid to Ukraine meant that nearly a decade of U.S. tactical weapons had been supplied to Ukraine.

“America and its allies increasingly lack the industrial capabilities to deter – and, if necessary, fight and win – great power conflict,” Brose said.

Brose’s comments echo those of US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, who said on Wednesday (December 4) that US weapons would be depleted “very quickly” in the event of a full-scale war with China.

“God forbid we end up in a full-scale war with the PRC. But any war with a country like the PRC, a military like the PRC, will lead to the depletion of ammunition stocks very quickly,” Sullivan said at an event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
