While an engineering project from the era is taking place at the Donnerstagabend at the Schwulen Museum in Berlin, the new website travestie-in-der-ddr.de is available.

The platform supports the transvestite movement in the DDR and the schwul-lesbischen movement in Berlin. The project, created by the Senate for Culture and Cultural Administration, aims at queer research and assistance, like the game with control rollers in the economic and lesbian war of the DDR (Schwerpunkt Ost- Berlin) in the middle of the war.

At the Schwulen Museum Agency, project designer Tom Weller highlights projects made for photos and video clips from the 1980s. Das Bild oben zeigt die 1986 ofiziell zugelassene Travestiegruppe “Die Drei”, directed by Axel Loesert, Jürgen Müller and Tomi Detlef Schwabe.

Zum Launch von transvestite-in-der-ddr.de born Müller, born in 1942 in Friedrichshain and recognized as “Die schöne Müllerin”, die Gäste mit einem Auftritt. Außerdem performed die 1979 à Halle geborene Kunstlerin Kaey. (min/pm)
