Renukaswamy case: Darshan Thoogudeepa pleads with HC to extend his interim bail due to impending spinal surgery

The case involving jailed Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in Renukaswamy’s murder continues to evolve with new updates daily. Recently, the actor was granted interim bail on medical grounds, but the Karnataka government has since filed a petition to revoke it. While the final decision on the case remains pending, Darshan has requested an extension of his bail.

According to the arguments put forward by DarshanAs for the lawyer, the actor’s impending spinal surgery has not yet taken place. As the medical procedure is crucial for his health, the actor requested that his six-week interim bail be extended further, so that his operation can take place on time.

For the unknown, according to some earlier reports, the delay in surgery for Darshan was caused by his unstable vital signs, particularly his blood pressure which rose to an alarming level caused by stress, rendering him medically unfit to be taken to the operating table. .

The court is yet to hear the accused’s new plea as it is currently adjourned. Meanwhile, another notable development from the Karnataka government has emerged.

The body challenged the earlier decision to grant interim bail to Darshan Thoogudeepa in view of his direct involvement in the murder of victim Renukaswamy, 33, of Chitradurga.

The government’s fresh petition to the HC now demands that the interim bail be withdrawn at the earliest.

The other main accused in this case, Darshan’s accomplice and fellow actress Pavithra Gowda also presented his arguments at the last bail hearing.

The actress’ lawyer claimed she had no history of offences, suggesting this incident appears to be just an isolated event.

Additionally, her lawyers also explained that there was no conspiracy theory on her part and that she was not directly responsible for the physical assault and subsequent murder of Renukaswamy.
