Accelerate work on infrastructure projects, Minister Sond orders officials

The minister urged officials of various departments to expedite ongoing development projects in urban and rural areas, ensuring their timely completion to improve infrastructure and public services.

Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Friday directed the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to deploy ground teams to immediately remove dangling wires in key areas of Ludhiana, including markets and other high traffic locations. Furthermore, the minister urged officials of various departments to expedite ongoing development projects in urban and rural areas, ensuring their timely completion to improve infrastructure and public services.

During a review meeting at the district administrative complex, the minister called on officials of the local government department to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed within the stipulated deadline. The minister emphasized that the Punjab government is committed to the welfare of all sections of society and highlighted the numerous development initiatives being implemented to promote all-round growth across the state.

The Cabinet Minister directed the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation to complete all development projects as soon as possible. He also asked the PSPCL to constitute field teams to go to the ground and quickly remove the wires hanging in various areas of Ludhiana, including markets and other places.

Sond also asked the municipal corporation to expedite the completion of all ongoing development projects.

“The PSPCL needs to quickly address the problem of dangling wires in the city, especially in markets and other areas, to ensure public safety,” Sond said.

The minister also issued directives to the water and sanitation wing (operation and maintenance cell) and horticulture division of the municipal corporation, urging them to ensure perfect cleanliness of roads, to close all manholes within two days to avoid accidents, to speed up the installation of new street lights and ensure the proper maintenance of parks by deploying adequate staff, among other responsibilities.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, Commissioner MC Aaditya Dachalwal, ADCs Harjinder Singh Bedi and Amarjit Bains, Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) Chairman Tarsem Singh Bhinder, Planning Committee Member of Sharanpal Singh Makkar district, among others.
