The seafront at Watchet, Somerset. The sea is visible and it is very dark and gray. There is no one around.

Watchet is right in the middle of the red alert zone – and bearing the brunt of Darragh.

The noise is apocalyptic: the gusts howl in this port city.

Trees have fallen, boats in the harbor are mostly on their sides, and as the tide rises, seawater breaks over two sea walls.

Christmas trees are scattered throughout the city center along with trash cans covering the paths and roads.

There are also a few brave people out and about – some walking their dogs and others standing on the harbor to take spectacular photos of the sea crashing over the defences.
