NAS feeds 450 vulnerable children in Edo — News — The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News

A human rights and social justice organization, National Association of Seadogs (NAS), on Saturday offered free food to about 450 vulnerable children in Jattu, Etsako West Local Government of Edo .

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the association, known as the Pyrate Brotherhood, was founded by Professor Wole Soyinka and six others in 1952 to support social justice in Nigeria.

The event, tagged: “Feeding 450 Street Children a Day,” is organized by Hybrid Deck (Edo North Chapter) in partnership with Atlantis Deck (Atlanta Georgia Chapter, USA).

Speaking at the event, Mr. Christopher Ikponwonsa, Capoon, Hybrid Deck, Edo North Chapter, said the organization would provide three square meals to the children.

Ikponwonsa said the idea was to bring smiles to the faces of the less privileged in society, especially children.

He added that this decision was part of the humanitarian service of the organization.
“We offer children breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“Feeding children and other less privileged people in society aims to show that NAS, as an organization, cares for them,” Ikponwonsa said.

The NAS Hybrid Deck Capoon, however, urged members of the public to always extend their hands to support those in need within society.

Furthermore, NAS Hybrid Deck Project Manager, Dr. Idris Haruna, said the free food program aims to mitigate the effect of hardship caused by economic reforms in the country.

“It is a response to hunger and the serious food shortage.

“As a humanitarian organization, Hybrid Deck, in partnership with Atlantis Deck, launched this free food program to alleviate the burning and pervasive hunger in the country.

“This is one of the Seadogs initiatives and programs designed and executed to combat hunger and reduce poverty,” Haruna said.

Some children who could not hide their joy prayed that God would bless the organization.
