Major supermarket issues urgent recall of Christmas dinner favorite which could be ‘unsafe to eat’

A MAJOR supermarket has issued an urgent recall for a Christmas dinner staple after discovering a potential safety issue.

Tesco is recalling its Tesco Red Cabbage & Apple 300G due to a packaging error which could render the product unfit for consumption.

This Christmas dinner favorite is a popular choice for festive meals, and Tesco said it was acting quickly to keep customers safe.

The supermarket has apologized for the inconvenience caused and is encouraging customers to check their fridge for the affected product.

Affected packs incorrectly display a use-by date of December 29, instead of the correct date of December 11.

This mislabeling could lead customers to consume the product beyond its actual shelf life, posing a potential health risk.

Tesco urged customers who bought the product not to eat it. Instead, it must be returned to any Tesco store for a full refund.

No receipt is required. Customers can also contact Tesco customer service on 0800 505 555 for further assistance.

It comes after another supermarket chain removed a supplement from shelves over fears it contained small stones and pieces of metal.

Products from a bustling wellness brand founded by Professor Tim Spector were urgently recalled because the presence of foreign bodies would make them “unfit for consumption”.

Waitrose recalls the ZOE Daily 30+ 7 Day “because it may contain small stones and small pieces of metal”, according to an alert by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

“The possible presence of stones and metal makes this product unfit for consumption,” the food watchdog said.

The supplement — a blend of seeds and spices sprinkled over meals — is supposed to help you incorporate more than 30 plants in your diet each week, which includes herbs and spices as well as fruits and vegetables.
