Calm and mild today, rain and cold to follow next week

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – More unsettled weather is in store early tomorrow with colder air arriving later in the week!

If you are a fan of milder temperatures, you are in for a treat! High temperatures will return to the 50s today! Expect some clouds this morning, but skies will remain mostly sunny for the afternoon! The weather will remain dry today with a few moments of breeze expected, but rain will return to the forecast tomorrow!

Around midnight, scattered showers will arrive and continue until dawn tomorrow morning. A few lingering showers are possible in the first part of the day before drying out for the afternoon and remaining mostly cloudy. It will be warmer than average tomorrow with temperatures rising into the 50s!

Your next first alert:

The main things we want First alert you’re about Monday’s morning rain (mentioned above) and the colder air arriving later in the week!

On Tuesday, temperatures will drop into the 40s and on Wednesday, temperatures will be even lower, in the 30s. A few lake-effect snow showers could drift off Lake Michigan during the day on Wednesday, but that’s not really what worries me!

The coldest day of the week will be Thursday with highs in the 20s and lows in the teens! Make sure to bundle up that day! But the cold will be short-lived with temperatures returning to the 30s to round out the work week and the 40s for Saturday!
