Emmerdale fans were completely shocked by Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in a recent episode. While his beloved wife Moïra (Natalie Robb) was undergo brain surgeryCain had a crazy moment and ended up sleeping with his sister-in-law, Ruby Fox-Miligan (Sincerely, Beth).

“He feels terribly guilty about what he did and how he did it,” Jeff Hordley told us. “The day she was in the hospital, for an operation, he went and slept with her sister-in-lawwhich is simply the worst. He knows that if this gets out, no one will see any sympathy, no one.

The betrayal came as Cain struggled to cope with his worry about what might happen to Moira and how he would cope if the worst happened.

Meanwhile, Ruby was dealing with the emotional turmoil of his daughter Steph (Georgia Jay) and her father Anthony (Nicholas Day) comes back into her life in rapid succession.

Once the deed was done, both parties felt extremely guilty about what had happened.

“It’s kind of like one of those moments in a sitcom or a movie, where two people wake up the next morning in bed and are like, ‘oh shit, what did we do?'” Jeff explained.

“It’s actually pretty instantaneous for them, as soon as they have sex they agree it was a mistake and they can never say anything to anyone about it.” It happened because they were both in a very difficult situation, but they know that’s not a good enough excuse.

In the next episodes, the spirals of Cain. While Moira is at the hospital preparing to receive pathology results that will tell her if she needs further treatment, her husband disappears.

Jeff told us what happens as Cain once again lets his wife down.

“He’s in the garage and Dr. Liam (Jonny McPherson) comes back, who knows Moira has this appointment at the hospital. He reminds him that it’s an important meeting and he wonders why he didn’t come with his wife?

“So he talks about Cain and he knows he needs to get to the hospital as soon as possible. I have (Chris Bisson) blocks the garage forecourt, so he just pushes the car out of the way to get to the hospital. Jai obviously reports this to PC Swirling (Andy Moore), and Swirling intercepts him on the way to the hospital.

“Cain says, “I have to go to the hospital now” and tries to explain. Swirling knows the situation but he has no sympathy, he has to take him to the station, which he does, and he stays in the cell for the night, which means he misses the meeting with Moira.

Moira and Cain’s marriage has already withstood a lot of pressure over the years – including that from her. affair with Cain’s son, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).

But this betrayal, which comes at the most vulnerable moment in Moira’s life, will be very difficult to overcome if the truth comes out. In addition, Cain also risks losing his brother. Caleb Miligan (William Ash) when he discovers that Cain slept with his wife.

Jeff fears this could mean the end of Cain and Moira.

“The danger this situation represents is enormous,” he warned.

“His wife is not the forgiving type. She often reacts the same way towards Cain in these situations. She is volatile. And likewise, he doesn’t want to jeopardize anything with his brother, because they are somehow back on equal footing.

“I think he really loves his brother deep down and they’re starting to have a good relationship. So it’s instant guilt and shame and thinking, ‘Oh, my God, what have we done?’

Despite the enormous risk, there is a part of Cain that wants to be honest and tell Moira clearly what happened. Jeff told us that Cain is preparing to tell the truth.

“There’s this moment after Liam brings him back from the housing estate and he’s drunk that he’s about to confess – but can he follow through with it?”

And if he does, how will Moira react?
