A fight breaks out between a trainee IPS officer and a UPSC coach

A fight broke out between a 2023 batch probationary IPS officer and a UPSC coach at a wedding in southwest Delhi’s Kapashera area. According to police on Sunday, the incident took place on December 6 and led both parties to file a complaint with local police. station.

Vikas Dhayal, a Rajendra Nagar resident and civil services coach, said the probationary officer hit him on the head with a glass. There was no immediate reaction available from the officer.

“We are checking the CCTV footage of the entire incident. Initially, we came to know that there was a problem between two people and one of them hit another with a window pane. We have received two different complaints, both complaints are being investigated,” said a senior police officer.

Dhayal shared a video on X, allegedly showing the assault, including images of her face and bloodstained clothes. He alleged that the police initially refused to file an FIR, and only relented when his post went viral. “The police took no action on my complaint regarding a life-threatening attack by IPS trainee Rahul Balhara, which was clearly visible on the CCTV. But now, after the Twitter post, the ‘upright’ Delhi police have filed a case against me, even though I have not pointed fingers at anyone,” he said in a post on X.
