Auburn Tigers Transfer Portal Tracker

AUBURN, Ala. – With the 2024 season over for Auburn and the opening of the transfer portal approaching, Auburn Tigers On SI is tracking Auburn Tigers departures and additions through the portal.

2024 was not an ideal year for the Tigers, who finished 5-7, head coach Hugh Freeze and company should be active in the portal to attract talent that fills out Auburn’s top 10 recruiting class .

The new NCAA rules stipulate that a team’s roster can include 105 players, 85 of whom are on scholarship.

Here’s a look at all of Auburn’s departures and additions. All the news from the transfer portal can be read on the recruitment page of the site. This story will be updated as further announcements are made.

Outgoing:

Burton, a 5-foot-11, 174-pound native of Austin, Texas, played his freshman season at Ohio State before transferring to Auburn ahead of the 2023 season. He was one of 11 four-star transfers who ‘Auburn has recovered in 2023 according to 247Sports.

Burton played a larger role in Auburn’s offense in 2023 than in 2024, playing in nine games and starting five, instead of playing three games without starting any. Additionally, Burton caught 16 passes for 226 yards in 2023 while he only caught two for 49 yards in 2024.

Wooden, a 6-foot-1, 191-pound safety, appeared in 28 matches throughout his three seasons with the program, starting nine of them. Wooden recorded 41 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, four pass deflections and two interceptions during his tenure with the Tigers. According to 247SportsWooden was a three-star recruit. The Lawrenceville, Ga. native, who attended Archer High School, was the No. 852 player nationally and No. 70 safety in the class of 2022. Wooden was the 17th highest-rated prospect during the draft. Auburn in 2022.

Lindsey, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive lineman, was a four-star recruit in the class of 2024 according to 247Sports. Lindsey, who played his final high school season for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., was the No. 324 player nationally and the No. 40 defensive lineman in the class. Lindsey was the 12th highest-rated prospect in Auburn’s 2024 recruiting class. Unlike others on Auburn’s 2024 roster who saw the field right away, Lindsey has only seen the field in one game for the Tigers this season. In Auburn’s season-opening rout of Alabama A&M, Lindsey made a tackle. It was the only stat he recorded for the Tigers during his season with the program.

Hidalgo, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound tight end, was unranked by 247Sports in the class of 2020. He played in four games in his three seasons with the Tigers but did not record any statistics.

Brown was the 14th recruit among the 18 Auburn recruited for his 2022 class. He wasted no time making an impact, however, as he accounted for nine receptions, 123 of his receiving yards, and two of his touchdowns during his freshman campaign. Flight. The Lauderdale, Fla. native was a three-star prospect and the No. 435 player nationally in the 2022 class. according to 247 Sports. In his three seasons with Auburn, Brown played in all 37 games and started six. He caught 26 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns.

Russo, a 6-foot, 218-pound redshirt sophomore, was a five-star prospect and the No. 3 punter in the 2023 class according to Kohl Kick. He did not appear in a single game during his two seasons with the program.

Keys, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound junior who spent the previous two seasons with Minnesota and Kansas, was a three-star prospect and the No. 38 defensive end in the 2020 class according to 247Sports. Keys did not appear in a game for the Tigers.

Harris, a 6-foot-5, 321-pound sophomore from Auburn, was a four-star prospect, the No. 308 player nationally and the No. 26 offensive tackle in the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports and the seventh highest-rated player on Auburn’s course. Harris appeared in six games during his three seasons with the program.

Riley, a 6-foot-6, 235-pound junior from Bellevue, Ne., appeared in 29 games for the Tigers during his three seasons with the program. Riley caught three passes for 43 yards and two touchdowns in those games. According to 247SportsRiley was a four-star recruit, the No. 402 player nationally and the No. 19 tight end. Riley was the ninth-highest rated prospect during Auburn’s 2022 run.

Geriner, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound sophomore from Savannah, Ga., appeared in eight total games for Auburn throughout his three seasons with the program. Throughout those games, Geriner was 9 of 20 on pass attempts for 116 yards and one interception. Geriner was a four-star prospect and the No. 271 player nationally according to 247Sports. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Additions

Auburn has not made any additions through the portal. The portal doesn’t open until December 9, five days after National Early Signing Day.
