Houston Weather: Cold Front Drops Temperatures; Freeze surveillance in the north

Tuesday will be windy and cool across Southeast Texas as a cold front moves toward the coast.

Look for north winds of 10 to 20 mph, with temperatures in the 60s.

Skies will clear during the afternoon as drier air arrives, setting up a cool night.

Frost Watch North of Houston

Montgomery, Walker, Trinity, Madison, San Jacinto, Washington, Grimes and Brazos counties are under an icy weather watch from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.

The city of Houston should escape freezing temperatures this time. But areas north of Houston like Brenham, Livingston, Huntsville and College Station could reach freezing Wednesday morning and/or Thursday morning.

Warmer weather and a good shot of rain should return just in time to potentially impact your weekend plans.
