ADVANCE – Our Daily Bread Food Pantry received $3,100 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed hungry neighbors.
The Feeding Our Neighbors grant supports community food partners in combating food insecurity and promoting healthier lifestyles through nutrition education initiatives.
“Daily Bread Food Pantry volunteers and patrons greatly appreciate the generosity of the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation’s donation to our pantry,” says Karen Deadmon, Our Daily Bread Board President. “Our pantry is over 15 years old and operates with dedicated volunteers. We currently serve a very large number of clients, so this grant comes at an opportune time. Our volunteers are fortunate to be able to do the work we do for our community.
The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10 states. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support to programs and organizations dedicated to feeding neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $19.6 million in grants.
The charitable foundation partners with Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief agency, in addition to local food agencies serving the 10 Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
