Venice’s Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium is unique in the way it is accessed by boat, and its location on an artificial island makes weather conditions extremely variable for opposing teams.

This unusual venue probably makes things a little tricky for visiting teams, who are generally used to traveling to the away side in a much more conventional manner.

Last weekend, Cesc Fàbregas’ Como became the latest team to travel to Venice, and they performed quite well, going 2-1 ahead after the hour mark.

But swirling winds and pouring rain gave the home side a helping hand, as attacking midfielder Gaetano Oristanio managed to equalize straight from a corner.

That gave the soggy fans in the stand something to cheer about, but Como goalkeeper Pepe Reina, 42, didn’t look very impressed.
