Rams head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford discuss the defensive battle in San Francisco on Thursday Night Football

“Absolutely man, (December football is different). That’s what it’s all about. That’s what you work so hard for. I just think about the whole OTA, every day of August training camp, all the injuries and struggles early in the season and things you have to overcome to try to give yourself a chance to play meaningful football this month. -Stafford

In the month of December, Stafford is now 11-1 as an Aries. In Detroit, he said there were “quite a few Decembers” where he didn’t have anything meaningful to play. Now he has “the opportunity to keep our season alive every time we go play, and it’s a lot of fun.”

Stafford said it was “tough to maintain the football” in the second quarter, but the weather was “good enough” in the second half that they could put together a decent passing attack. He added that he “put two in danger today, which I wish I hadn’t,” referring to two dropped interceptions in the first half.

“I have to do the best job I can of staying aggressive while taking care of the football,” Stafford said. “I definitely have things I can watch and work on because of this football game.”
