Kaide Gordon transfer talks planned as club awaits Liverpool decision – Liverpool FC

Kaide Gordon is expected to return to Liverpool in the January transfer window, with the young winger ruled out of the club’s final three games on loan. Norwich.

After joining the Championship team Norwich By the end of the summer, it was hoped that Gordon could finally find his feet at senior level after a difficult period with injury.

But the 20-year-old has barely featured for the Canaries since his move to Carrow Road, starting just one of eight appearances and totaling just 165 minutes on the pitch.

He has been completely left out of the squad for the last three league matches, and recently featured for NorwichThe U21s against PSV Eindhoven.

This is clearly not what Gordon or his parent club expected, since THE Liverpool EchoPaul Gorst of Paul Gorst reports that talks are planned on a likely recall in January.

Gorst explains that “there is an expectation at the level Norwich that Gordon will return to Liverpool”, although the Reds “haven’t yet made a final decision either way”.

Talks will take place in January and Liverpool “could exercise their right to bring the winger back ahead of another move” as they seek regular game time for their player.

Gordon is unlikely to return to play a role in Arne Slot‘s first team, and either another loan or half-season with the U21s are likely instead.

Gordon found the net in a 4-0 win over Hull in October, which was his first senior goal in almost three years, but he struggled to make an impact during Norwich Otherwise.

Johannes Hoff Thorup favored three other options on the right flank, with Amankwah Forson and Ante Crnac regular starters and Emiliano Marcondes also replacing Gordon in a 3-0 defeat to QPR earlier this month.

This happens despite neither of these players being natural right wingers, perhaps demonstrating how little Gordon has had success convincing his manager.

Liverpool are likely to reign in a number of loan deals in January, with Calvin Ramsay And Marcelo Pitaluga also failing to break through at Wigan and Livingston respectively.

Rhys Williams expected to return next month but Morecambe has already asked for the deal to be extended until the end of the season, while the Reds have a recall option for Ben Doak but it is unlikely that he will end his stay at Middlesbrough.
