Everton travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Saturday afternoon knowing the odds are stacked against them. The Toffees have not won on the red side of North London since 2021.

Sean Dyche’s men have not played since their 4-0 win over Wolves earlier this month following the postponement of the Merseyside derby with Liverpool last weekend. The Gunners are enjoying good form after a difficult October, but they failed to beat Fulham last weekend and have lost ground. Liverpool at the top of the table.

Everton could do their fierce rivals a huge favor with a result against Arsenal. However, UK fans won’t be able to watch the match live and here we explain why:

Why isn’t Arsenal vs Everton shown live on TV in the UK?

The meeting was not chosen by broadcasters Sky Sports and TNT Sports. The usual 12:30 slot on TNT is vacant this weekend with Southampton vs Tottenham scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Sky Sports will broadcast the Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa match from 5:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. Brighton vs Crystal Palace will also be shown on Sky Sports on Sunday afternoon at 2pm – soon to be followed by the first Manchester derby of the season at 4.30pm.

However, due to the English football blackout on Saturday, which runs from 2:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., the Arsenal v Everton match at 3:00 p.m. will not be shown live. This rule, Article 48 of the UEFA statutes, appeared in 1987 and is in place to “protect spectators throughout the pyramid of English football”.
