Strictly’s Craig abruptly leaves panel as Claudia makes huge announcement | Television and radio | Showbiz and television

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood was kicked off the panel as Claudia Winkleman made a huge announcement.

The final of BBC the competition began on Saturday evening (December 14), with Chris McCausland, JB Gil, Tasha Ghouri And Sarah Hadland performing their latest routines.

JB, 38, kicked off with professional partner Lauren Oakley, with the pair performing the Viennese Waltz.

After their first dance, Craig admitted he couldn’t fault the performance and the duo received four 10s from the judges.

Moments later, Claudia asked Craig to join them in studio as she shared news about the judge, who had been on the panel since the show began in 2004.

The presenter said: “It’s weird but we’ve been waiting for this for years. I’m going to need Craig here. Craig, can you come?”

The 59-year-old then abruptly left his fellow judges and rushed to join Claudia and the dancers in the studio.

Claudia joked: “Craigy. It took 20 years. It took 22 series. Guess what just happened?”

Craig replied: “I have no idea.”

The TV host revealed: “You just gave your hundredth 10.”

The studio erupted in joy before Craig was presented with a sparkly headband with the number 100 written on it.

The judge thanked everyone before returning to the panel. Tess Daly added: “Craig, we love it when you pull out your ten.”

The final four competitors will perform three final routines in hopes of winning the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

After dancing the Viennese Waltz, JB, who was originally partnered with Amy Dowden, and Lauren will perform their Show Dance to a medley of famous Motown songs.

Their other routine will be Samba to “Mas Que Nada” by Sergio Mendes. Chris and Dianne Buswell’s first performance came in the form of their Couple’s Choice.

For their Show Dance, which allows each couple to incorporate multiple dance styles, the couple will dance to “You Get What You Give” by New Radicals.

Their final dance will be the waltz to “You Will Never Walk Alone” by Gerry and the Pacemakers.

Sarah and Vito Coppola performed the Cha Cha to Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.” They will also do their Show Dance to “Cabaret” by Metropole Orkest and recreate their American Smooth to “Proud” by Heather Small.

Tasha and Aljaž Škorjanec’s first routine was their couple’s choice to P!nk’s “What About Us.” Their Show Dance will be performed to “Sing, Sing, Sing” by Benny Goodman before performing American Smooth to “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi.
