What to pay attention to: We follow part of Cooper’s pre-recorded interview on the BBC website this morning – she believes that the level of “dangerous” illegal crossings of the Channel is “far too high” (but refuses to set a timetable for reducing their number).

In other news: The show airs after another busy week in Westminster. There was more agricultural events, warnings from industry leaders on the government’s housing campaign, slack growth figuresand of course, sandwich holder.

In view: The fall of the Assad regime in Syria last weekend continues to loom large, with Keir Starmer and other senior colleagues this week taking part in a series of high-level meetings on what happens next.
