Influencer Says Her Favorite Salad Recipe Almost Cost Her Fingertip

It would be an unappetizing salad topping.

An influencer almost suffered a major accident while filming a routine cooking video. In a TikTok video shared on Wednesday December 11 Meredith Hayden – who passes by @WishboneKitchen on the social media platform – details that she almost cut off the top of her finger while preparing what she calls her “Christmas confetti salad.”

“It’s the salad It almost made me lose my finger,” Hayden says at the start of the clip, carrying a salad bowl in one hand and raising the other in front of the camera to show her bandaged finger.

“Despite this traumatic accident, I still continue to eat it every day for four days in a row,” continues the meal influencer.

The saladwhich Hayden says is perfect “all winter long”, features radicchio, shaved Brussels sprouts, fried cranberries, Marcona almonds, roasted chicken and goat cheese and is topped with a apple cider vinaigrette. apple and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.

The injury probably came from Hayden finely cutting the various salad ingredients into shreds to make them look like pieces of confetti.

“Good for having my 10 fingers!” she jokes at the end of the clip before taking a big bite of her creation.

In 2020, she landed her first private chef job and later began posting daily videos of all the meals she prepares, go viral online for his videos documenting his work in the Hamptons.

Before her savory career, Hayden worked in marketing after graduating from college and took cooking classes at night.

Hayden spoke to PEOPLE in 2022 about his culinary journey and the family member who inspired him the most.

“The inspiration for me to get into cooking has always been my mother. She was a fabulous cook growing up. And once a week she would make us a roast chicken for dinner, and she always kept the triangle when she was cutting the chicken,” Hayden said.

“And after dinner we would do the thing where you cut the triangle in half, and whoever gets the bigger half gets to make a wish. I just have really fond memories of being in the kitchen with my mom,” she continued.

As for how she selects her recipes, Hayden told PEOPLE, “I usually choose recipes that are fresh and easy to prepare, but not too simple.”
