Princess Kate set to bridge gap with Harry and Meghan

Princess Kate may be preparing to extend a festive olive branch to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this Christmas, according to a former royal staffer.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down as senior royals in 2020, have parted ways with the royal family, with their last Christmas spent with the firm in 2018.

Tensions between Harry and his family remained high, especially after brothers Harry and William refrained from uniting for the Diana Award this month, each separately congratulating the winners.

Rumors suggest Harry and Meghan have not been invited to join the royal family at Sandringham for the festive period, with the couple planning to spend Christmas in Montecito, California. However, this information has yet to be confirmed.

Grant Harrold, who served as butler to King Charles from 2004 to 2011, speculated that Kate might take the opportunity to reach out to the couple this Christmas.

There’s even talk of a possible FaceTime call, offering a glimmer of hope for a holiday reunion.

“Christmas is about goodwill, leaving the past behind and entering the new year with a fresh start,” Harrold said.

He speculated that Princess Kate and the Sussexes could use this opportunity to grow closer, with the festive season often encouraging families to put aside their differences and reconnect.

“There is something magical about Christmas that brings families together,” he added.
