Pakistan, Kazakhstan agree to establish exhibition centers to boost trade – Business & Finance

ISLAMABAD: In a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Investment, Privatization and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, it was decided to establish product and machinery exhibition centers to promote the bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.

It was also agreed to showcase textile products, surgical equipment, sports, handicraft items, leather and agricultural equipment.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, and Ambassador of Pakistan to Kazakhstan, Nouman Bashir Bhatti, who expressed deep interest in establishing exhibition centers in Pakistan and Kazakhstan, ensuring their full cooperation for which both countries will immediately start working and these centers will be realized. functional as soon as possible.

Aleem Khan, speaking at the meeting, said that Pakistan and Kazakhstan would provide all possible facilities to the business community on a large scale under one roof. He added that the volume of bilateral trade with Kazakhstan will increase by 100% over the next three years. He said instead of traveling to different cities and locations, the needs of foreign investors would be met at one center and under one roof.

Aleem Khan said a common trade strategy will be adopted for Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries to boost trade in this region.

Aleem Khan said that Pakistan wants to increase its exports to Kazakhstan by 20 percent in a year, for which Pakistan will also establish exhibition centers for its products in Almaty, Baku and other cities of Central Asia while a policy will be formulated for the exhibition centers according to the demand of each product in that country.

Aleem Khan said that display centers will be constructed at important locations where the business community can easily access and face no difficulty.

Kazakhstan Ambassador to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin expressed thanks to Aleem Khan for his keen interest in bilateral cooperation and assured him of all possible support.

Federal secretaries and senior civil servants attended this high-level meeting and were briefed on important ministerial issues.

It is worth mentioning that in Pakistan, the first display center will be established in Islamabad and for this purpose, the Board of Investment, Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Ministry of Commerce will launch coordinated efforts.
