The Recycling Lives charity on Essex Street feeds up to 200 people every Wednesday

Some of the people who help cook and serve meals are those who participate in Recycling Lives rehabilitation or residential support programs.

Jeff*who is currently on an undergraduate degree at HMP Kirkham, is one of the prisoners helping in the kitchen at Supper’s Up.

He said: “I learned to cook in prison so I use those skills to help other people.

“I enjoy it, I do it and it’s nice to be able to give something back.”

“I’m in prison until 2026 because I attacked someone, it was serious and I know I need to get better. Doing this work for Supper’s Up is a way to help myself and others.
