Will Rohit Sharma follow R Ashwin’s example and retire? The Indian skipper says “My body…”

Captain of the Indian cricket team Rohit Sharma has confirmed that he will not follow R Ashwin’s lead and retire from international cricket during the ongoing Test series against Australia. Rohit has not been in good form of late and his awful show has attracted a lot of criticism from fans and experts. Ashwin announced his retirement at the post-match press conference after the third Test match against Australia in Brisbane. When asked if Rohit would follow suit, he said his numbers haven’t been good lately, but as long as his body and mind are moving well, he would continue to play for India.

“I didn’t hit well. There’s nothing wrong with accepting that. But I know what’s in my mind, how I prepare. All those boxes are very checked. It’s just about spending as much time as possible, which I’m pretty sure I’ll be there. As long as my mind, body, and feet are moving well, I’m pretty happy with how things are going for me.

Rohit has not opened the batting in the last two matches with KL Rahul take on the role for him. However, his move to No. 6 didn’t work out well as he didn’t score many points.

“Sometimes those numbers can tell you it’s been a while since he’s had a big run. But for a person like me, I think it’s all about how I feel in my mind, what kind of preparation I have that I have before each match, and how I feel about myself.

“That’s the most important thing. And I feel good about myself, to be honest. The races obviously don’t show it, but inside it’s a different feeling.”

Rohit Sharma praised India’s premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwinto retire from international cricket, saying “some decisions are very personal” and that the entire team fully supports Ashwin’s thought process.

The 38-year-old announced his retirement after India’s fourth Test against Australia in Brisbane ended in a draw. He finished his career with 537 wickets at an average of 24 in 106 Tests and became India’s second-highest wicket-taker after the legendary leg-spinner. Anil Kumble. He also scored six Test centuries and 14 fifties with the bat. His last international match was the day-night Test in Adelaide, where he won 1-53.

“You see, some decisions are very personal and I don’t think questions should be asked or raised? Yes, if a player has a choice, he should have that choice and someone like Ash, who has been there for us since so many years,” Rohit said in the post. -match press conference.
