Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James didn’t forget his favorite college football team Saturday night.

After the Lakers’ 103-99 victory over the Sacramento Kings, James watched the Ohio State-Tennessee College Football Playoff game in the locker room while speaking with reporters. He expressed excitement over Buckeyes running back TreVeyon Henderson’s 29-yard touchdown run to give Ohio State a 21-0 lead over the Volunteers.

Although James did not attend Ohio State, he grew up in Ohio and revealed that he would have chosen the Buckeyes if he had attended college. James was the No. 1 pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, which was one of the last NBA drafts that allowed players to be selected directly out of high school.

The Buckeyes are vying for the chance to play Oregon in the Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes fell to the Ducks 32-31 earlier in the season.

James scored 32 points with seven rebounds and six assists in the win, so the Buckeyes game clearly didn’t impact his focus. However, he was able to become a fan again after the win and hopes his favorite program advances to this game against Oregon.
