The 3rd India vs Australia Test turned out to be a thriller as the Indian team avoided the sequel thanks to a historic tenth wicket partnership between Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep. 47 runs off 78 balls in which Akash Deep contributed with 31 runs off 44 balls. His innings included two fours and a six. The latter played with brilliant defense and worked the balls in singles and doubles whenever necessary. The confidence also showed with the ball as Australia were reduced to 87/7 in the second innings. However, rain also proved to be a major factor in the match which almost wiped out three days of clash.

Akash Deep opens up on his mindset during Brisbane Test

While speaking to reporters ahead of the 4th IND vs AUS Test, Akash Deep revealed his mindset while batting in Brisbane. He said the batting count was very low and hence his mindset was to contribute 20-30 valuable runs for the team. He added that the idea was just to stay on the field and not think about what’s next. Akash Deep said: “The number I have come out to bat is very low, so my mindset is to score 25-30 valuable runs for the team. My mindset when I bat is always to contribute for the team and that day also in the Brisbane Test, I came out with the same mindset.

“At that time, I wasn’t thinking about what happened next, the first idea was to stay on the field. Everyone in the locker room was confident after saving the sequel and was enjoying the moment.added Akash Deep.

The fourth India vs Australia Test is scheduled to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne from December 26.
