China finalizes its provincial databases to improve classification and review of files

BEIJING, June 13 (Xinhua) — China has completed the construction of databases for normative documents in all 31 provincial regions on the mainland, a key step to ensure that all regulations and policies are filed for registration and legislative review.

The achievement was highlighted in a report submitted Sunday to an ongoing session of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), the national legislature, for deliberation. The report details progress made in implementing a central requirement that all regulations and policies are included in filing and review.

Provincial databases include more than 380,000 normative documents of different types, formulated by state bodies within their administrative regions, the report said.

The Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee pledged to make efforts to guide local legislatures in improving their registration and review work.
