A post on the social media site showed the happy couple looking in love as Boulter showed off her stunning diamond ring.

The upload was accompanied by the caption: “We’re keeping a little secret…”

Their announcement garnered over 25,000 likes in less than an hour as fans, friends and family congratulated the duo.

British tennis hero Laura Robson was among those who sent their best wishes to the future husband and wife.

Robson wrote: “You guys are cute. Best pre-season news ever.”

While PGA Tour Golf star Min Woo Lee also commented, “Congratulations everyone.”

Spanish tennis star Paula Badosa also conveyed his congratulations.

Leicester-born Boulter, 28, and Aussie De Minaur, 25, have been dating since 2020.

The two men met on the professional tennis circuit and have since fallen in love.

Boulter is currently ranked number 285 in the world, while De Minaur is world number nine in the men’s rankings.

The pair appear to have said ‘yes’ to Alicante, with Boulter sharing snaps from the Spanish city last week.

But there won’t be too much time to celebrate as the two stars could go from being engaged to being enemies when they could face each other in the United Cup.

Boulter recently opened up about how she was “not excited” to face her future husband in the competition.

She said: “I wouldn’t say I was thrilled at the prospect of playing him again.

“He’s top 10 and he knows how to play tennis, so there’s a side to that. Then there is the personal side which is difficult but also great for bragging about.

“I’m looking forward to this match and I think the atmosphere will be great. Playing in Australia will always be fun. We’re definitely going to be the underdogs, so let’s put the pressure on them.

Great Britain and Australia are drawn in the same group for the second year running, meaning Boulter and De Minaur will be hoping their other half makes a mistake.

With two singles matches and a mixed doubles in each United Cup clash, Boulter and De Minaur could even end up facing each other if they are both selected for the doubles.
