Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation awards grant to Salvation Army





SMITHFIELD – The North and South Carolina Division of the Salvation Army received $2,500 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed hungry neighbors. The Feeding Our Neighbors grant supports community food partners in combating food insecurity and promoting healthier lifestyles through nutrition education initiatives.

“We are grateful for this grant and will continue to do the greater good in our community by fighting hunger,” said Lt. Christopher Rawls, spokesman for the Salvation Army of Johnston and Harnett Counties. “Our mission is to meet human needs without discrimination. »

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10 states. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support to programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $19.6 million in grants.
