Our goal is not power, but the establishment of good governance: Jamaat ameer

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman today said that his party’s aim is not to come to power but to establish good governance in the country.

He also said: “We want two things from the people of the country. If we work for the country, for the people, then we want the love of your heart. You should give us the gift of love. With love, we We want support and cooperation. With support and cooperation, we want to be at your side to meet national challenges. We want a place in your hearts to change this nation.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the activists’ conference organized by the Jashore District Jamaat-e-Islami at the Jashore Eidgah this morning.

Shafiqur Rahman added that if Jamaat-e-Islami had the opportunity to serve its countrymen, extortion would not exist in this country. The occupants will not exist.

“There will be no corruption. We want to build a nation that will neither tolerate fascism nor imperialism,” he said.

Jamaat ameer said that before August 5, the country was plagued by mismanagement.

“Each time the Awami League has come to power, misrule has oppressed. Over the last 15 and a half years, the pain of misrule and oppression by the Awami League has been greater,” a- he declared.

Speaking about the July-August mass uprising, he said: “The people of Bangladesh and the whole world could not imagine that the fascist regime would fall on August 5. The leaders of this success, of the fall of the fascists, were our children. The fascist government wanted to suppress the movement by firing with hammers and helmets. »

Shafiqur Rahman alluded to the history of Jashore and said the town had been destitute until now.

“Jashore is an old district of the British period. As an old district, Jashore has not been affected by development. The people of Jashore have been deprived of their just rights. A center needs to be built around this town. There are no parks “There are no fields, no watersheds. They (previous governments) talk about development before coming to power, but when they come to power, they forget,” he said.

Criticizing the Awami League, he said: “How capable are those whom we know as thieves and thieves? But those who stole thousands of millions of taka with a single stroke of a pen are bigger thieves and thieves.

“The Awami League and its alliance have robbed and emptied the banks,” he said, adding: “The banks are incapable of providing capital to businessmen.”

Reflecting on the role of the caretaker government so far, he said: “The caretaker government is trying to revive the economy. We want the economy to be more dynamic. But the market union has not been broken. There is an increase in the prices of raw materials. . The government should be more proactive in controlling the market. »

Warning party leaders and activists, Shafiqur Rahman said, “A group has taken up extortion. We don’t want another group to come in (and do the same thing). Has extortion stopped in the country? No, it has changed hands. People did it. Don’t become martyrs for this. We should not betray the blood of martyrs. Doing these heinous acts would betray the martyrs.

“No leader or activist should indulge in extortion by occupying footpaths, markets, balumahals (sand quarries), jalmahals (water sources),” he insisted.

Talking about equal rights for all people in the country, the Jamaat leader said that there is no minority in the country.

“Everyone is constitutionally equal. We live in harmony across religions and castes,” he said.
