Forget AirPods 4: These 5 wireless earbuds have much longer battery life

Battery life is important to me. I like to make sure my headphones or earphones will last a long time: a long bus ride, a long train ride, or a multi-hour flight somewhere. If I have to recharge, that’s time spent not listening to my favorite songs, and that, friends.just won’t do the trick.

The AirPods 4 have a lot going for them, but battery life definitely isn’t one of them. Since I care about battery life, the 4 hours of rated battery life is simply not enough. The non-ANC version is not much better, only lasts 5 hours.

Sure, I can place the earbuds in their charging case for five minutes and get an extra hour of battery life, but then I have to do that every hour when I go on long trips to keep listening to my music. No, this is not acceptable. Luckily, I’ve tested some other great options that turn out to be the best. best wireless headphones with plenty of battery that outperforms AirPods 4. Here are 5 of my favorites.

Beats Solo Buds

The Beats Solo Buds pack more battery life into their tiny cases than almost anything else out there, to the tune of 6 p.m. You have to give up some of the more high-end features, probably to fit them into massive batteries.

Let’s do some quick math: AirPods 4 (without ANC, to be fair) only last 27% of the time. Beats Solo Buds. That’s less than a third, for those good at number sight (I had to use Google Geminibecause I’m not good at seeing numbers). Although I may not be very good with numbers, I do know one thing. If you’re looking for the best battery life in a pair of headphones, you won’t do much better than the Beats Solo headphones.

Remember that in its infinite wisdom, Apple I didn’t put a battery in the charging case. To recharge the battery of your earbuds, you need to put them back in their case and then plug them into a USB-C cable. This can be done on the go though, which is useful. The sound is good for the price, and their small size and light weight make them comfortable in the ear.

Cambridge Audio Mélomania M100

As you might have guessed massive charging case, the Mélomania M100 not only do they last a long time in your ears, but they also have hours of charging time on hand in the case. In fact, the case holds 36 hours of battery, so you can charge them multiple times before needing to plug the case into the nearest USB-C outlet.

But it’s the battery of heads themselves that is most impressive. Without ANC, the earbuds will last 16 hours, just over 3 times longer than the base model AirPods 4. Turn on ANC and you still get 10 hours peak. That’s 2.5 times the battery of AirPods 4 with ANC, as well as more battery than almost any other pair of earbuds.

They also sound incredible thanks to Cambridge Audio’s excellent tuning, and their fit is very comfortable too. This is a great package, and they’re priced higher than the ANC-equipped AirPods 4 and noise-canceling model: they cost just $119. I think I know which one I prefer to buy.

The WF-1000XM5 needs no introduction. They are Sony‘s premium ANC headphones, and they come with battery life to match – 8 hours, in fact. That’s double the battery of the AirPods 4 with ANC, and even 2 hours more than what you’ll find in the higher-end AirPods Pro 2. This means you’ll listen to more music for longer and in better quality.

We called the Sony WF-1000XM5 the best wireless headphones for a reason. In addition to their excellent battery life, they also sound incredible and feature excellent noise cancellation. Yes, they cost more than the AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2, but they also turn out to be much better.

The only place they might stumble slightly is the battery life of the charging case, but even then it’s not bad. An extra 24 hours of battery is always welcome, and that equates to about three extra charges when you’re on the go. Compact, durable and with exceptional sound: what more could you ask for?

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4

Sennheiser is known for much more than top-notch sound. In recent years, the company has built great battery life into its headphones and earphones – and few have as much battery life as the true wireless Momentum 4. With ANC enabled, they’ll last 7.5 hours , almost double that of AirPods 4.

You get 30 hours of battery life with the case, so you’ll be able to charge them sufficiently when you’re on the go. They also sound really great, and Sennheiser has given them some excellent silicone fit options so they’ll be comfortable when worn for long periods of time.

Better yet, they can be had for much cheaper than their current introductory price, often bringing them to a price under $300. That’s more than the AirPods 4, but it more than holds its own against the AirPods Pro 2.

Beats Studio Buds+

Beats Studio Buds+ received a massive update from the previous model, and one of the biggest improvements was battery life. With ANC enabled, they last up to 9 hours, much longer than AirPods 4 with or without ANC. It’s not bad at all, and then you consider the price of the buds.

Although they offer a more comfortable fit, better sound, and ANC than the AirPods 4, they cost about the same. This is a pretty good deal, and you should definitely consider the Beats Studio Buds+ if you’re looking for an alternative to the AirPods 4.
