Welcome to Coffinwood, a serious experience you will never forget

PAHRUMP, Nev. (KTNV) – It’s spooky season, but for a unique property in Pahrump, it’s spooky all year round.

It’s called Coffin woodand the property theme is all about coffins. I thought it was a good time to find out what it was all about – and it was a sight to behold.

From cemeteries to skulls, this property is eye-catching.

It may be the only house in southern Nevada with a cemetery out front and coffin-shaped pillars.

“Coffinwood is actually our property where I build caskets here, and it’s a life-size work of art,” said owner Bryan Schoening.

Bryan is known as the “Coffin Maker” because he makes coffins on his property and decorates them.

He dressed up and showed us around.

“At first we have a cemetery; it’s full of graves,” Bryan said.

To accompany the theme, he wanted a cemetery. He told me that no one was buried here, but that some of the headstones were from real graves where the headstones had been replaced. But there is an animal cemetery.

In every corner of the property you will find something related to coffins.

“We have a coffin gazebo and evil gargoyles… So you’re actually at the entrance to the coffin church. I’m also a reverend and I do weddings and funerals,” he said. Bryan said.

Throughout the property you will find unique items that he and his family collected from around the country, including a collection of hearses.

If you book a tour, you will meet the puppy Vincent and the twins from the popular horror film “The Shining”.

Gabe Smith helps repair the hearses and is also the resident musician.

“We consider it a giant art project and kind of a family project. We all work together on everything,” Gabe said.

Coffinwood is used as a venue for events but is open for weekend tours, weddings or even photo shoots. It is open all year round.
