Nyankpala shooting: victim’s family calls for justice

The uncle of the deceased teenager – Shaibu Haruna – victim of the December 7 general election-related shooting in Nyankpala, Northern region, says the family will never forgive the suspects who carried out the act .

Haruna’s uncle, Mohammed Abu, threatened to ensure that the perpetrators were brought to justice.

He said: “We will never forgive our son’s killers until the end of time, no amount of money can bring back our son and no one can convince us to forgive the killers. »

Mr Abu called on the Ghana Police to ensure that the family gets justice and that the perpetrators are prosecuted for their crime.

He made this known during the burial of the late Shaibu Haruna who was buried at Nyankpala.

During the December 7 elections, tensions between supporters of the two main political parties escalated, leading to chaos and an exchange of gunfire that left one person dead and two injured.

The injured victims were taken to hospital for medical treatment while the deceased was taken to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

So far, around 10 people have been arrested and assisted in police investigations related to the election-related shooting in Nyankpala, Northern Region.
