Mysterious Michigan Fan Trolls Ohio State’s Ryan Day With Plane Message

There truly is nothing like the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry, and today is just more proof of that. As the Buckeyes spend their day preparing for a playoff game against Tennessee, most of the dialogue around head coach Ryan Day and Ohio State has been about the Michigan problem.

Despite being a three-touchdown favorite heading into the November 30 game, the Buckeyes lost their fourth straight game to the Wolverines. It was the biggest upset in the history of this legendary rivalry, and the fallout was brutal for Day, as many Buckeye fans clamored for his job. Although some of that heat has died down in recent days, there is still a prevailing belief — at least among OSU fans — that Day needs to win a Natty or find a new job.

Among the many festivities underway with College GameDay in town, a message appeared in the Columbus sky as Ohio State and Tennessee fans gathered for tonight’s game. The message was simple: “Extend the day Ryan – #GoBlue”

While there has been no direct confirmation as to who was responsible for this hilarious message, it’s a safe bet that we know who it is. Throughout Saturday morning, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy posted several pieces of content to his social media channels. In all the videos, Portnoy can be seen wearing clothing that says “extend Ryan Day.” Not too long ago, Portnoy posted another hilarious video that pretty much confirms he’s the culprit.

I don’t know if an extension is in order, but Ohio State AD Ross Bjork indicated he still has full confidence in Day, despite his struggles against Michigan. Going further, Bjork indicated that he expects Ryan Day to be back on the sidelines in Columbus in 2025 – something Michigan fans will no doubt be happy about.
