This weekend he made his MMA debut in London, beating Poland’s Janusz Walachowski by unanimous decision, and fans are losing their minds.

A punching Slytherin? Totally on brand!

Life after Harry Potter has been anything but boring for the cast. Daniel Radcliffe continues to take on wonderfully strange roles, Rupert Grint had a quiet period as an ice cream truck owner before returning to acting, Emma Watson became a global voice for feminism and Matthew Lewis abandoned his awkward Neville days to embrace a swoon-worthy character. a transformation that the Internet cannot overcome.

And then there’s Josh Herdman, who fans may remember as Goyle, Malfoy’s loyal Slytherin sidekick. These days he’s an MMA fighter! In a conversation with Daily mirrorhe revealed,

I have been training in traditional Japanese jujitsu for almost five years and I am a shodan black belt. It’s raw, exciting and unpredictable. I find it more interesting than boxing although I appreciate the beauty and art of boxing. It also made sense to move into MMA because of my background in jujitsu.

Years of Japanese jujitsu have prepared him for this new arena, but Herdman hasn’t given up on acting yet, still auditioning and balancing his passions for fighting and the screen. Fans are looking forward to seeing more of him in the future!!

How Josh Herdman and Tom Felton Created One of the Best Harry Potter Lines Ever!

While we’re talking about Josh Herdman, let’s not forget one of the best moments with him Tom Felton gifted Harry Potter fans. Remember this iconic scene from Chamber of Secrets when Harry and Ron sneak into the Slytherin common room dressed as Crabbe and Goyle?

In the scene, Harry, dressed as Goyle, explains his glasses by claiming he was reading when asked about them. To this, Malfoy responds with one of the best lines in the entire franchise, “I didn’t know you could read.”

But the truth is that this line was completely improvised! During a Facebook Q&A Tom Felton admitted he masked his current line and threw it away on the spot. The filmmakers liked it so much that they decided to keep it in, thus cementing one of Malfoy’s funniest zingers in the entire series.
