Dodgers fan posts viral photo of tattoo commemorating Freddie Freeman’s WS Grand Slam | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats and Rumors

Although Los Angeles Dodgers fans won’t forget Freddie Freeman’s grand slam in Game 1 of the World Series against the New York Yankees, one fan went even further to commemorate the moment.

Fan Maeve Hushman posted a tattoo she got on her forearm in homage to Freeman’s iconic moment.

Sports girls are so weird, what do you mean you got Freddie Freeman’s grand slam tattooed on you? (it’s me, I’m sporty) pic.twitter.com/kYm6Km3zqO

The tattoo features the numbers of the three Dodgers players who were on base – Chris Taylor, Tommy Edman and Mookie Betts – and Freeman at home plate, with the ball flying over the right field wall after being hit.

Los Angeles appeared to be in trouble in the late innings of Game 1. The Yankees took a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning on Giancarlo Stanton’s two-run homer off Jack Flaherty.

The Dodgers were able to tie the score in the bottom of the eighth, but New York took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 10th before Los Angeles loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the inning.

Nestor Cortés Jr. managed to get Shohei Ohtani out in foul territory for the second out. Any hope the Yankees had of escaping the threat was dashed when Freeman threw the first pitch he saw 423 feet.

Freeman’s circuit was the First of all Grand Slam in World Series history and only the second in MLB playoff history after Nelson Cruz’s in Game 2 of the 2011 ALCS for the Texas Rangers.

The comeback victory in Game 1 propelled the Dodgers through the entire series. They won each of the first three games against the Yankees, but saved the best for last with a five-run comeback aided by poor New York defense in the deciding Game 5 at Yankee Stadium.

Freeman homered in each of the first four games of the series. He finished 6 of 20 with a 1.000 slugging percentage, drove in 12 runs and scored five runs in five games to earn World Series MVP honors.
