The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is accepting applications for Trust Fund grants

THE Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) announced today that the Veterans Trust Fund (VTF) 2025-26 accepts grant applications for programs and services benefiting Pennsylvania veterans.

The DMVA will award VTF grants to nonprofit organizations, veterans service organizations, and county directors of veterans affairs across the state. Grant applications must be received by 2 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 16, a press release states.

Interested applicants are encouraged to attend a TEAMS meeting to be held on Thursday, November 7 at 11 a.m., during which an overview of the grant guidelines, timeline, and application will be provided. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the meeting. The meeting will be recorded and made available to those unable to attend.

“Veterans and their families have made great sacrifices in service to our nation, so it is important that we are there for them in their time of need,” said Brig. Gen. John Pippy, acting adjutant general of Pennsylvania and head of the DMVA, said in the release. “With the help of the VTF, Pennsylvania can reimburse our veterans and send the message that they are not forgotten.” Through this grant program, we are all a team on a mission to help Pennsylvania’s heroes.

Availability of grants

Grants are available for new, innovative, or expanded programs or services administered by County Directors of Veterans Affairs or the Pennsylvania Association of County Directors of Veterans Affairs. The area of ​​interest for candidates in this category is:

  • Veteran Outreach Initiatives

Grants are available to veterans service organizations with 501(c)(19) status and non-profit organizations with a mission to serve Pennsylvania veterans with 501(c)(3) status. under the Internal Revenue Code. Funding priorities for applicants in this category are:

  • Social determinants of health
  • Transportation
  • Job

Since the grant program launched in 2013, 312 grants totaling $8,141,860 have been awarded to organizations providing services to veterans in Pennsylvania.

The VTF is funded by Pennsylvanians who voluntarily donate their county jury allowance; when applying for or renewing a driver’s license, photo identification, or motor vehicle registration; when purchasing Honoring Our Veterans standard and motorcycle license plates; when purchasing a standard Honoring our Women Veterans license plate; or by private donations.

The DMVA is authorized to solicit and accept donations to the VTF on behalf of the Commonwealth. Tax-deductible donations can be made online at www.pa.gov/dmva/donate or mailed to: PA Veterans’ Trust Fund, Bldg. 9-26, Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA 17003-5002.
