Autistic British Columbia man poses for photos with thousands of celebrities

For as long as Adam Davies can remember, he has only had one dream.

“I wanted to be like one of the journalists interviewing the stars,” Adam says.

Adam got his first chance to meet a celebrity around the age of nine.

“Sharon, Lois and Bram!” Adam smiles before showing a photo of the children’s entertainers which he had them all sign.

“It was really good,” Adam smiled. “I was happy.”

It was so wonderful that he began to strive to collect as many autographs as possible.

“I love seeing different (movie) sets,” Adam says. He visits all the locations in the city. “It’s so cool to see behind the scenes.”

Adam also stops by every concert and major sporting event, armed with a pair of Sharpie markers and a backpack full of memorabilia, waiting for a celebrity to sign something.

“It could be a long shot,” Adam laughs, adding that he could wait hours to reach his goal.

But his patience paid off in the end. Adam’s room is filled with all sorts of signed things, including a remarkable collection of CDs, containing signatures from Bublé to Beyoncé.

“I love it!” Adam smiled.

But even better is when famous people agree to pose for a photo with him. You can see from Adam’s Instagramthere have been several.

“Thousands!” Adam smiled. “Thousands and thousands!”

The list includes major stars like Johnny Depp, Uma Thurman and Owen Wilson.

Adam says the photos are always taken after a polite request, and often after the revelation that he is on the autism spectrum.

“I want them to know me,” Adam says. He passes handwritten notes to the stars or holds up large signs to introduce himself.

These interactions typically inspire a far more meaningful connection than if Adam was simply the kind of entertainment journalist he had once hoped to be.

“I feel good,” Adam said.

Like when Billy Bob Thornton recently told Adam something he said he’d never revealed to a Hollywood reporter before, something Adam respectfully keeps between them.

“It’s overwhelming,” Adam smiled. “Very overwhelming.”

Because why limit yourself to fulfilling a long-held dream, Adam learned, when you can make your current reality even better.
