Out of nowhere, after 14 years Sega kills one of the only legal ROM sources on the entire internet by removing 60 classic games

Sega suddenly announced that 60 classic games from its old catalog were about to be delisted from Steam. Now, it’s not like you’ll run out of ways to play, say, Streets of Rage after those versions of the games disappeared, but the delistings are notable for several reasons, including the fact that it’s of some of the only ones. Legally purchasable classic game ROMs that you can find anywhere on the internet.

The full list of removed games is available on Sega’s website. official support sitewhich also confirms that they will be removed on December 6 at 11:59 p.m. PT. The list includes a few Dreamcast ports alongside the Sega Genesis Classics collection, which includes a total of 60 games on Steam. We’re talking about stuff like Golden Axe, Streets of Rage and Phantasy Star IV – all true classics of the 16-bit era.
