In Florida, a woman was charged with second-degree murder after her roommate was last seen on Christmas Day two years ago.

According to a statement by the Orlando Police Department on Facebook, Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez was charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of tampering with physical evidence and one count of grand theft in connection with the The ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco.

Medina-Pacheco, 42, was reported missing on Dec. 27, 2022. Victoria-Gonzalez, also 42, contacted police to say she hadn’t seen her roommate since Dec. 25, 2022, but then As authorities’ investigation continued, “detectives discovered numerous inconsistencies in the version of events described by Victoria-Gonzalez,” according to OPD.

“A search warrant was executed at their home, where significant evidence was located, indicating that a violent incident had occurred,” the police statement continued.

Multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies were able to find Victoria-Gonzalez living in Hartford, Connecticut, and after conducting an additional interview with her, police were able to arrest and charge Victoria-Gonzalez.

In a video Released by OPD, Victoria-Gonzalez can be seen wearing a red dress and handcuffed as she is led to an elevator by law enforcement.

Police say Medina-Pacheco’s body has not been found.

By local media NBC ConnecticutAuthorities said Medina-Pacheco had traveled from her home in the Dominican Republic to Orlando for an extended vacation in October 2022 and was living with an acquaintance she knew from home.
