Training courses for patient advocates

I am truly grateful to have this opportunity and would recommend it to anyone, knowing that the issues raised will be raised by others and hopefully improved upon. I admire that the organizers and speakers were informative and inspiring. THANKS.

It’s been an incredible week and I feel privileged to have been sponsored by Cancer Research UK to take part, so a very big “thank you”. Overall, I encourage everyone to go.

What a week! It was exhausting, especially for someone who suffered from chronic fatigue, but despite that, I would do it again in a heartbeat! Amazing. The details we covered to learn how cancer develops; the kindness and enthusiasm of the research teams and the opportunities we had to work hands-on in the laboratories, fully supported, were second to none. I can’t thank Cancer Research UK enough for allowing and funding us to do this course. I highly recommend it to others. I am even more excited about the need to maintain a research presence to ensure that research has a positive and meaningful impact on patients and the public and is not research “for research’s sake” . I could say so much more! Once again, thank you very much for the opportunity to take this course.

Yes, the VOICE course was awesome! I learned a lot about cancer, sequencing, and how to best communicate information as a patient advocate, and the people were really lovely. I was actually very sad that it happened so quickly! If there is anything similar to this course in the near future please let me know as I would love to take part.
