‘Disappointing’

Ange Postecoglou provided an update on his team after Tottenham suffered several injuries earlier today.

Cristian Romero and Richarlison were both substituted with knocks and they looked devastated to go off.

The Romero problem would have a bigger impact on Spurs, with central partner Micky van de Ven also sidelined.

And Postecoglou commented on his defender saying: “Disappointing, we’ll see what it is. Richy too.

“It’s obviously a tough blow with Cuti. It’s a tough cookie for him to take off, he’s visibly sore.

“But hopefully something he can recover from quickly.”

Captain Heung-min Son was also left confused over his withdrawal from the match, as he came off in the 55th minute after an assist.

But his manager has now confirmed that was always the plan.

“He was never going to play more than 55 minutes,” Postecoglou said.

“The last time he came back from injury, he reached the 60-minute mark and got injured again. He came out unscathed.”
